The volume of CO2 at STP obtained by heating 1gm of CaCO3 will be?

1 gram of CaCO3 indicates 0.01 moles of it.

                  CaCO3  ------------------> CaO  +  CO2

1mole of CaCO3 gives 1mole of CO2 on heating.

so, 0.01 moles of CaCO3 gives 0.01moles of CO2.

1mole of CO2 means 22.4litres of it,

thus 0.01 moles of CO2 indicates 0.224litres = 224millilitres
