Number of moles of CaCO₃ = given mass/molar mass = 50/100 = 0.5

The balanced chemical equation is

CaCO₃ ----------> CaO + CO₂

It means that 1 mole of CaCO₃ on heating gives 1 mole of CO₂

So, 0.5 moles of CaCO₃ on heating gives 0.5 moles of CO₂

We know, 1 mole of any gas at STP occupies 22.4 litres of volume

so, 0.5 moles of CO₂ occupies 11.2 litres of volume

∴ 11.2 litres of CO₂ is evolved at STP.

Hope it helps!!
