The volume of methane produced will be 3.75ml

The above reaction can be written as :

CH₃COONa  +  NaOH  = CH₄  + Na₂CO₃

From the reaction it is clear that 1 mole of sodium acetate will produce 1 mole of methane

molecular weight of sodium acetate = 82 g

=> number of moles in 8.2 gms = 8.2/82 = 0.1 mole

Hence 0.1 mole of sodium acetate will produce 0.1 mole of methane.

since the molecular weight of methane is 16, therefore

0.1 mole of methane = 16 x 0.1 = 1.6 gms of methane

density of methane = 0.4256 g/ml

=> volume = mass / density

= 1.6/0.4256 = 3.75 ml

Hence the volume of methane produced will be 3.75ml
