the volunteers of NSS rescue people from floods snd them in the tents made of tarpaulin in the shape of the cylinder surrounded by a cone.if the diameter of the tent is 6m and slant height of the conical part is 5m,find how many square meters square meters of canvas is required to make the tent of height 12m

The total height of the tent = 12m
Now, radius for the conical part= 3m
Slant height = 5m
Therefore, height of cone=4m
CSA of cone= πrl = π*3*5
Now, height of cylinder= height of tent- height of cone=12-4=8m
Therefore, CSA of cylinder=2πrh= 2π*3*8=48π
Therefore, reqd. Canvas= CSA of cone+ csa of cylinder
= 15π+48π=63π=63*22/7= 9*22=198m²
