If wages of Naveen and Menaka is increased by Rs. 6000 the new ratio is 38:35 from the ratio of 6:5 then Menaka’s salary is Rs. 4500.

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio of wages of Naveen and Menaka = 6:5

So, let the wages of Naveen and Menaka be “6x” and “5x” respectively.

It is given that if the wages of each of them are increased by Rs. 6000 then the new ratio becomes 38:35, therefore, we can write the eq. as,

\frac{[6x + 6000]}{[5x + 6000]} = \frac{38}{35}

⇒ 35[6x + 6000] = 38[5x + 6000]

⇒ 210x + 210000 = 190x + 228000

⇒ 210x – 190x = 228000 – 210000

⇒ 20x = 18000

x = 900

Thus,

Menaka’s salary will be,

= 5x

= 5 * Rs. 900

= Rs. 4500
