Rings in the Cartilage are mainly present in the trachea would efficient for preventing the collapses.

In fact, it also enables lumen in the trachea to stay open while breathing.

Trachea or windpipe is supported by the cartilagenous rings called as tracheal rings and these are supportive for wide number of reasons.
