Answer:

The area to be plastered is 63.75 m^2.

Step-by-step explanation:

The room represents a cuboid.

l = 4.5m

b = 3.5 m

h = 3m

In a room, only the walls and the ceiling will be plastered and not the floor.

Thus, the surface area of the room to be plastered is,

= 2(bh+lh) + lb

= 2 [ (3.5×3) + (4.5×3) ] + (3.5×4.5)

= 2 [ 10.5+13.5 ] + 15.75

= 2(24) +15.75

= 48 + 15.75

= 63.75 m^2
