EXPLANATION:

Sadako was a girl in Japan who lived with her family in Japan. She has two siblings. When she was two years old United states Military dropped bombs in Hiroshima which takes thousands of lives. Sadako’s grandmother died in the bomb blast.

Many others died later due to atom bomb disease. Sadako was an active girl and she loved to play all the time. When sports day was conducted in her school , her friends told her that she should participate in relay because she can run at great speed. She however managed to win the race but after the race she felt extremely tired and weak.

That is when her family found that she is suffering from atom bomb disease, a cancer which is due to the radiation of poisonous gases from the bomb nine years before which filled the air. She died when she was twelve years old. The war changed Sadako’s family forever.
