The weight of a body is 2 N. What is the mass of the body? (g = 10 ms^-2)

Because the force of gravity is equal in the body being weighed and the standard used to weigh it and so effect of gravity cancels out. It depends on how the body was weighed. If it was weighed in a scale having two pans, and balancing the weight of the body with a standard weight, then the mass of the body is 2 kg.

Weight = Mass * g

2 = Mass*10

Mass = 2/10= 0.5kg
