We can start with assuming weight of book = x units

weight of the notebook = y units

It says weight of book is three times weight of note book

that means x is three times of y

x = 3y

Now to write in proper equation form let us subtract 3y from both sides

x- 3y = 3y-3y

we know two same terms of opposite sign cancel out resulting a "0"

so right side becomes a 0

it becomes x- 3y = 0

Answer : x- 3y = 0

Answer:

Check it below

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the weight of the book be x.

And the weight of the notebook be y.

Weight of the book is three times the weight of the notebook.

The linear equation would be x=3y.

Standard equation says x-3y=0.

I hope it helps.... ^_^ :)
