Answer:

The weight of the person on the surface of the earth will be 60N.

Explanation:

The weight of a person on an object is given as,

W=mg     (1)

Where,

W=weight of the person on the surface of the earth

m=mass of the person

g=acceleration due to gravity

And the weight on the surface of the moon is given as,

W'=mg'           (2)

Where,

W'=weight of the person on the surface of the moon

m=mass of the person

g'=acceleration on the surface of the moon

And we know that the acceleration on the surface of the moon is one-sixth of the acceleration on the surface of the earth. i.e.

g'=\frac{g}{6}        (3)

From the question we have,

W'=10N   (4)

By taking the ratio of equations (1) and (2) we get;

\frac{W}{W'}=\frac{g}{g'}       (5)

By placing all the required values in equation (5) we get;

\frac{W}{10}=\frac{g}{\frac{g}{6}}

\frac{W}{10}=6

W=60N

Hence, the weight of the person on the surface of the earth will be 60N.
