2KClO3 ----->2KCl + 3O2

There fore for 2moles of KClO3, we get 3 mole of O2.

Converting this info to mass, for Every 245 gm KClO3, we get 96 gm O2.

There for to get 0.96 gm O2, we have to take 0.96/96 x 245 = 2.45 gm of pure KClO3...

Your answer seems to be correct, I am doubly sure the answer given is wrong.
