the white light get split into seven colours when is refracted through prism , but in case of a mirror or lens splitting of light does not take place . explain. why??

yes , in the case of mirror or lens the splitting of light doesn't take place. this is because the white light gets reflected in mirror's case and the light gets focused in lens case. therefore , we are not able to see light splitting in seven colours.

in lens it doesn't take place because lens just diverges or converges the light and prism splits the light into 7 color
