the whole surface area of rectangle block is 1300 CM square find its volume if the dimension are in the ratio 4 : 3 :2

Solutions :-







Given :



Total surface area of rectangle block = 1300 cm²


Ratio of dimensions of block = 4 : 3 : 2




Let the length (l) , breadth (b) and height (h) of the rectangular box be 4x, 3x and 2x, respectively.




We know,



Total surface area = 2(lb + bh + lh)

=> 2(4x × 3x + 3x × 2x + 4x × 2x) = 1300


=> 2(12x² + 6x² + 8x²) = 1300


=> 2 × 26x² = 1300


=> 52x² = 1300


=> x² = 1300/52


=> x² = 25


=> x = √25 = 5



Therefore,


Length = 4x = 4×5 = 20 cm


Breadth = 3x = 3×5 = 15 cm


Height = 2x = 2×5 = 10 cm




Now,


Find the volume of rectangle block :-



Volume of cuboid = lbh cubic unit


= (20 × 15 × 10) cm³


= 3000 cm³




Hence,


Volume of rectangle block is 3000 cm³

«Total surface area = 2(lb+bh+hl) = 1300 sq cm.
2(12x2+6x2+8x2) = 1300⇒x2 = 25⇒x=5
Hence the dimensions are 20 cm, 15 cm and 10 cm.

«Volume = lbh = 20×10×15 = 3000 cm3
