let L be the length and B be the width of the plot
B = L5/6 (given)
If the length had been 3 feet less and the width 5 feet more, the plot would become a square such that,
L - 3 = L5/6 + 5
L - L5/6 = 5 + 3
(6L - 5L)/6 = 8
L = 8 X 6 = 48
so,
length = L = 48 feet
& width = L5/6 = 48 X 5 / 6 = 40 feet
