Then,width is x-5

Area=150

x*x-5=150

x=√155

x=12.45

therefore width=12.45-5

                         =7.45 inches

Area = x*(x + 5) = 150

x² + 5x = 150

x² + 5x - 150 = 0

(x + 15)(x - 10) = 0

x = -15 or x = 10

The width of the rectangle = x = 10 inches
