4x²+68x=111

4x² +68x−111=0

(4x² +74x−6x−111)=0

(2x−3)(2x+37)=0

$x = \frac{3}{4} m \: or \: x = - \frac{37}{2}$

Since, width can not be −ve

Hence, the width is 1.5 m.
