The word Octopus means eight feet. That is how theOctopus gets its name. It has eight arms and three hearts. It eats small crabs,worms and fish.The Octopus has no bones,which means it can squeeze into small spaces easily and hide from its enemies.It lives deep down in the oceans,in dens or holes under large rocks, where it also lays eggs.An Octopus blood is blue inn colour.

The octopus is able to catch iths prey with its long arms.Each of its arms is lined with many small cups arranged in two rows.These help the Octopus to move around,hold things and taste food. If the Octopus loses an arm ,it grows right back .Along with its eight arms,the octopus has a bulging head and two eyes.The Octopus also has very good eyesight,but it can not hear. During times of danger,the Otopus squirts black ink at its enemies to protect itself.Another way it escapes its enemies is through camouflage.It can blend with its surroundings so well that it becomes invisible to its enemies.Octopuses are among the most intelligent creatures of the water.
