The answer to this question is option A – Africa.

Poverty in African countries are common. One main reason for this are the politicians, who incite ethnic strife and violence for their personal and political gains. Guerrilla war and the spread of Islamic militancy have resulted in mass migrations and instability in the region, aggravating poverty and diseases like AIDS etc.

Climatic conditions are harsh and indiscriminate clearing of forests and mining, have resulted in droughts and famine. Humanitarian agencies are unable to offer much help, due to threat from militants or political intervention.

The World Bank should focus on Africa and work with other agencies to alleviate the suffering.
