from 1900 the population had grown rapidly because of many reasons, some of them are the following:
*from  1900 it had grown rapidly because after world war 2 there no wars like world war 2 in which many people died and from this time science and technology started to develop and many medicines had been invented and this leads to decrease of death rate and then birth rate increased and from this also women discrimination had been reduced and this lead to birth of girls has been increased and also not many people died due to starvation and hunger .these all factors lead to the rapid population growth.

1 . This rapid growth increase was mainly caused by a decreasing death rate (more rapidly than birth rate), and particularly an increase in average human age.

2 . Today, even our least developed societies/countries have access to enough medical advancement to prevent most of that death. Even in places where people are at risk of starving to death, the overall death rates are lower.

3. There's another layer to the issue: birth rates. Ancient humans had both high births and high deaths, so populations were mostly stable. With initial development comes population growth, as death rates fall while birth rates remain. The highly developed countries of our world have gone one step further by making contraceptives available, by letting women control their own fertility, and by letting women choose to have careers. The result is low births and low deaths.

4. Less developed countries are stuck in a population growth mode, however. As mentioned, death rates have lessened with access to some modern healthcare and knowledge, yet they have not been able to develop out of their high birth rates. The result is rapid population growth across Africa, most of Asia (especially India). China has lowered its birth rate with laws about child bearing, but their population is already so high that it still grows a lot in absolute terms.

Hope it helps !!!!!!!!!
