Given:

Sides of the equilateral triangle = a = 10 cm.

To Find:

Distance of the centroid.

Solution:

"Centroid is the point at which the three medians of the triangle intersect".

For an equilateral triangle, the distance of the centroid is 2/3rd of the length of the median.

Length of the median = \sqrt{10^{2} -  5^{2}  }

                                  l =  8.66 cm.

Distance of the centroid =  \frac{(2)(8.66)}{3}

                                     d  =  5.77 cm.

The centroidal distance of an equilateral triangle with each side equal to 10 cm from any of the three sides is 5.77 cm.
