Given that:

  • The yearly rent for a house is ₹ 36,600.
  • Mr. Vasu stayed in the house for 8 months.

To Find:

  • How much rent did he pay?

We know that:

  • 1 year = 12 months

Finding the cost of 8 months rent:

Using unitary method.

↣ 12 months cost = ₹ 36,600

↣ 1 month costs = ₹ 36,600/12 = ₹ 3,050

↣ 8 months cost = ₹ 3,050 × 8 = ₹ 24,400

Hence,

  • He paid ₹ 24,400 rent.

Given :-

The yearly rent for a house is ₹36,600. Mr. Vasu stayed in the house for 8 months.

To Find :-

Rent pay

Solution :-

This can be solved by two method. I am solving by both methods

Proportion method

Month : Rent :: Month : Rent

Let the rent be r

12 : 36600 :: 8 : r

12(r) = 36600(8)

r = 36600 × 8/12

r = 3050 × 8

r = 24400

Unitary method

Cost of 12 month = 36600

Cost of 1 month = 36600/12 = 3050

Cost of 8 month = 3050 × 8

Cost of 8 month = 24400
