Let the no. of 10 paise coins be x and 25 paise coins be y.

Total coins = 40

ie, x + y = 40

x = 40 - y....... (1)

Now,

1 coin = 10 paise

x coins = 10×x = 10x paise

1 coin = 25 paise

y coins = 25×y = 25y paise

Sum of the rupees = 7.75 (as you told in the comments)

7.75 rupees = 7.75×100 = 775 paise

10x + 25y = 775

10(40 - y) + 25y = 775

400 - 10y + 25y = 775

15y = 775 - 400

y = 375/15 = 25

x = 40 - 25 = 15

No.of 10-paise coins = x = 15

No.of 25-paise coins = y = 25
