there are 100 multiple choice questions in an examination for every correct answer the student gets 5 marks and for every wrong answer to Marks deducted from the total score of correct answers suppose the student items all the questions and is total score is 220 how many questions to attempt correctly ??

x + y = 100

5x - 2y = 220
2x + 2y = 200

7x = 420
x = 60

This means that there are 60 correct answers and 40 incorrect answers.
