Take 4 , 4, 4 coins weigh it
1) FIRST TRIAL
1st set 4 coin vs 2nd set 4 coins
if equal fake coin lies in the 3rd set of 4 coins
else the set of fake coins will weigh more
2) SECOND TRIAL
now after finding the fake set
weigh in 2 coins
1st set 2 coin vs 2nd set coin
The fake coin set will weigh more
3) THIRD TRIAL
From the fake set of coins
weigh in 1 coin
The fake coin will weigh more..
Thus the fake coin was identified in 3 trials
