1st Question :

100 N is said to be to be one of the rectangular component of a vector . We have to find the actual vector and the other rectangular component.

Let the vector be \vec A

 |\vec A|  \sin( \theta)  = 100

 =  >  |\vec A|  \sin( 60 \degree)  = 100

 =  >  |\vec A|    \times \dfrac{1}{ \sqrt{3} }   = 100

 =  >  |\vec A|       = 100 \times  \sqrt{3}

 =  >  |\vec A|       = 100 \times 1.732

 =  >  |\vec A|       = 173.2 \:  N

So actual vector is 173.2 N

So other component will be :

 =   |\vec A|  \cos( 60 \degree)

 =   173.2 \times  \dfrac{1}{2}

 = 86.6 \: N

2nd Question :

One of the rectangular component of 80 km/hr vector is 40 km/hr. We have to find the other rectangular component :

Let the vector be \vec B

 |\vec B| \sin( \theta)   = 40

 =  >  80 \times \sin( \theta)   = 40

 =  >  \sin( \theta)   =  \dfrac{40}{80}

 =  >  \sin( \theta)  =  \dfrac{1}{2}

 =  >  \theta = 30 \degree

So other rectangular component will be :

 =  |\vec B|  \cos( \theta)

 =  |\vec B|   \times \cos( 30 \degree)

 = 80 \times  \dfrac{ \sqrt{3} }{2}

 = 40 \sqrt{3}  \: km  {hr}^{ - 1}
