Number of teams from each school = 3
Total number of teams = 24
Total prizes = 3 first prizes + 3 second prizes + 3 third
= 9
i ) probability of coming first from
each class per school ,
Probabilitty of getting I prize in VIII Class = 1/8
Probability of I prize in IX Class = 1/8
Probability of I prize in X class = 1/8
ii )
Getting a prize if 3 prizes per class I, II and III
Total prizes = 9
Total teams = 24
Probability = 9 / 24 = 3 / 8
