There are 25 rooms in a hotel. 13 of them have television. 10 of them are air-conditioned. 6 of them have air conditioner and television both. How many rooms do not have either a television or an air-conditioner?​

the solution is like this --

7 rooms have only television

4 rooms have only AC

6 rooms have both television and AC

now, if we see ,

the rooms with television = 7 + 6 = 13

and the rooms with AC = 4 + 6 = 10

and as mentioned above, 6 rooms have both AC and television.

now, 7 + 4 + 6 = 17

and 25 - 17 = 8

so, there are 8 rooms which do not have either a television or an AC.
