Let the no. of acult and children be 2x and x

According to the question
x+2x=2907
3x=2907
x=969

Therefore, no. of adults = 2×969=1938

Answer:

The answer is 1938

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that the total population is 2907. The ratio of adults to children is 2:1.

We have to find the number of adults in the village.

Let the common ratio be x.

So, number of adults = 2x.

and, number of children = x.

It is given that the their sum is 2907.

So, 2x + x = 2907.

3x = 2907

x = 2907/3

x = 969.

Hence, number of children = 969.

and, the number of adults = 2x = 2 X 969 = 1938.

Hence, the number of adults is 1938 in the village.
