Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

People wearing formal dress : Total people = 3 : 8

● Explanation -

Let x be no of women in the hall.

No of men will be 3x/5.

Total people in the hall will be x + 3x/5 = 8x/5.

No of men wearing formal dress are 2/3 × 3x/5 = 2x/5.

No of women wearing formal dress are 1/5 × x = x/5.

Total people wearing formal dress are 2x/5 + x/5 = 3x/5.

So now, ratio of people wearing formal dress to total people is -

Ratio = (3x/5) / (8x/5)

Ratio = 3/8

Thanks dear...
