there are 3 numbers the third number is the greatest.when the third number is divided by second number,the quotient is 4.The difference between the second and the third number is 654.if the first number is 109 more than the second number,find the first number.

x = 1st no.
y = 2nd no.
z = 3rd no.
according to question, z>x>y

[tex]z/y = 4 [/tex]

$z = 4y$__________(i)

and

[tex]z - y = 654 [/tex]

$z = y+654$______________(ii)

now, if you compare  equations (i) and (ii),

$4y = 654+y$

$5y = 654$

$y = 654/5$

$y = 130.8$

According to question again,

$x = y+109$

$x = 130.8+109$

$x = 239.8$
