Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

There are 312, 260 and 156 students in class 10,11 and 12 respectively.

To find :

We have to find the maximum number of students who can sit in a bus if each bus takes equal number of students.

Solution :

We have to find the HCF of the students.

HCF of 312,260 and 156 is, 52

Therefore,

The maximum number of students who can sit in a bus if each bus takes equal number of students is 52.

No of buses=(312+260+156)/52

=14

.

Maximum number of students can sit in a bus is 52.

Number of buses required is 14.

Each bus can accomodate maximum of 52 students.

GIVEN

There are 312, 260, and 156 students in class 10 11 and 12 respectively buses are to be hired to take these students to picnic.

TO FIND

The maximum numbers of student who can sit in a bus if each bus take equal number of student.

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

To find out the maximum number of students that can sit in a bus, We will find out the HCF of 312, 260, and 156.

The HCF will be equal to the maximum number of students.

312 = 2³ × 3 × 13

260 = 2² × 5 × 13

156 = 2² × 3 × 13

HCF = 2 × 2 × 13 = 52

Hence, Each bus can accomodate maximum of 52 students.
