Part of mixture that is milk after 16 L is replaced =24/40
=3/5
And remaining milk =24L
Now, when 10 L mixture is removed, volume of milk removed = 3/5 of 10L
=6L
Now the remaining milk =24L-6L
=18L
Rest will be water. Therefore, amount of water =40L-18L
=22L [Answer]

Short Method:
Amount of milk remaining
=40{1-(16/40)}×{1-(10/40)} L
=40×(3/5)×(3/4) L
=18 L
Therefore, Water = 40L-18L
=22L [Answer]

Hope this helps. For any clarification please comment or message. Thanks!
