Let the total population be x,
Females = 46% of x
Then, males = (100 - 46) = 54% of x
B/C,
54x/100 = 46x/100 + 2480
=) 54x - 46x / 100 = 2480
=) 8x = 248000
=) x = 248000/8
=) x = 31000
Therefore, total population of the village = 31000

TooFree: Hey there.. a small calculation mistake there ... 54x - 46x ≠ 10x. It should be 8x

 \textbf {Hey there, here is the solution.}

.............................................................................................

STEP 1: Find the percentage of males:

Percentage of females = 46% (Given)

Percentage of males = 100 - 46 = 54%

. .............................................................................................

STEP 2: Form the equation:

Difference in males and females = 54 - 46 = 8%

Difference in males and females = 2480 (Given)

8% = 2480

. .............................................................................................

STEP 3: Find the total population:

8% = 2480

1% = 310

100% = 310 x 100

100% = 31,000

. .............................................................................................

Answer; There are 31,000 people in the village

.............................................................................................

 \textbf {Cheers.}
