There are four friends P,Q,R & S. The time taken by P alone to complete the work in 'x' days, the time taken by R alone to complete the work is (x+14) days. P started the work alone, after 11 days Q joined him and after 15 more days both of them left the work left the work and rest work is completed by S in 10 days. The efficiency of R is 25% more than the efficiency of Q, and the ratio of the efficiency of a to S is 6:7. what is 'X'?

Q& R take 20/3 days to complete 100% of the work

GIVEN: Four friends completing a piece of work
TO FIND: Number of days taken to complete work
SOLUTION:

As we are given in the question,

Let us assume that  P and O take 'x' days to do the work

Therefore,

Time taken by R & S = (x + 6) days

P+ Q 1 day's work = 1/x

(R+ S)'s 1 day's work = 1/(x + 6)

Now according to the question,

It is given that,

(P+ Q+ R+ S)'s 1 day's work = 1/4

- 1/x+ 1/(x + 6) = 1/4

= 4(2×+6)=×(×+6)

= x^2- 2x - 24=0

=×=6, - 4 (negative value in invalid as time or days cannot be negative)

R & S take = 6 + 6 = 12 days

P & S take = 12 - 2 = 10 days

Now,

(P& S)'s 1 day's work = 1/10

(Q& R)'s 1 day's work =- 1/4 - 1/10 = 3/20

Q& R take 20/3 days to complete 100% of the work.
