Individually, 3 is 3 and 6 is 6, two resistors 3 ohms and 6 ohms by themselves.

In series, they are 3 + 6 = 9 ohms

In parallel, the reciprocal of 1/3 + 1/6,

hence the reciprocal of 3/6, which is 6/3 = 2 ohms.

Since 1/R tot = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 ………in parallel.
