There are three runners Ram, Gautam, and Shyam with their respective speeds of 10kmph, 20kmph and 30kmph they are initially at P and they have to run between the two points P and Q which are 10 km apart from each other. They start their race at 6 am and end at 6 pm on the same day. If they run between P and Q without any break, then how many times they will be together either at P or Q during the given time period?

Answer:

They will meet at P    8 AM , 10 AM , 12 PM  , 2 PM  , 4PM  , 6PM

They Will meet 6 times

Step-by-step explanation:

There are three runners Ram, Gautam, and Shyam with their respective speeds of 10kmph, 20kmph and 30kmph they are initially at P

Ram speed = 10 km/hr

P to Q distance = 10 km

P to Q time = 10/10 = 1 hr

Ram will Reach point Q  first after  1 hr

Then Every  2 hrs  ( as he has to cover 20 km then Q to P & P to Q)

Ram at Q    7 AM , 9 AM , 11 AM  , 1 PM  , 3PM  , 5PM

Ram  at P    8 AM , 10 AM , 12 PM  , 2 PM  , 4PM  , 6PM

Gautam speed = 20 km/hr

Gautam will Reach point Q  first after  1/2 hr

then after 1 Hr Each

Gautam at Q    7:30AM , 8:30AM ..............................5:30PM

so They will never meet at Q

Gautam at P will be Every hr

7 AM , 8 AM , 9 AM  ......... 5PM  , 6PM

for Shayam we will not check Q as Ram & Gautam will never meet at Q

Shayam speed = 30 km/hr

Shayam will be at P  every 2/3 hr

Shayam at P   6:40AM  , 7 :20AM , 8 :00AM ,,,,,,

=> Every Two Hrs Ram, Gautam, and Shyam  will be at P

They will meet at P    8 AM , 10 AM , 12 PM  , 2 PM  , 4PM  , 6PM

They Will meet 6 times
