Answer:

Let the containers of equal capacity be holding mixture of 56 (LCM of 8 and 7)

First Container –

Container holding Milk :

⇒ Milk = Ratio/Total Ratio × Capacity

⇒ Milk = 5/(5 + 3) × 56

⇒ Milk = 5/8 × 56

⇒ Milk = 5 × 7

⇒ Milk = 35

Container holding Water :

⇒ Water = Total - Milk

⇒ Water = 56 - 35

⇒ Water = 21

Second Container –

Container holding Milk :

⇒ Milk = Ratio/Total Ratio × Capacity

⇒ Milk = 4/(4 + 3) × 56

⇒ Milk = 4/7 × 56

⇒ Milk = 4 × 8

⇒ Milk = 32

Container holding Water :

⇒ Water = Total - Milk

⇒ Water = 56 - 32

⇒ Water = 24

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀───────────────

Both Containers are mixed, now we have to find Ratio of Milk and Water in new mixture.

Ratio in New Mixture :

⇢ Milk : Water = (1st + 2nd) : (1st + 2nd)

⇢ Milk : Water = (35 + 32) : (21 + 24)

Milk : Water = 67 : 45

Hence, correct option is C) 67 : 45.
