Water has about four times higher heat capacity than land, i.e. it takes much more energy to increase the water temperature and the water temperature will therefore respond slower to temperature changes.  This temperature difference will have several consequences for the weather near the coast.

Land changes temperature faster than water does. Therefore, as the sun shines and begins to heat the Earth's surface, the land's temperature increases faster than the water's temperature

because land cool down repaidly and also get hotted fast while the water body takes time to get warm and same gets time to cool down
