When the cube is divided two times horizontally and vertically, we get a large cube with:

3 × 3 × 3 = 27 cubes

The cubes with one face painted :

We have one cube on each big face with one face painted.

A cube has 6 faces.

The total number of cubes with one face painted is thus :

6 × 1 = 6 cubes

= 6 Cubes

Note : This you have to do practically by drawing the cube and dividing it then shading it differently for cubes with one face painted, two faces painted and three faces painted so tgatthat you can see it clearly.
