There is a mixture of water and alcohol of 84 liters. When 12 liters of water is added to the mixture the ratio of water to alcohol become 11:5. Find the original ratio of alcohol to water in the mixture.

at first the mixter was 84 litre

then mix 12 ltr of water

the sum of the mixture =84+12=96

now the ratio of water and alcohl=11:5

11x+5x=96

16x=96

x=6 ltr

water =11x=11×6=66ltr

before the mix of water

the water was=66-12=54 ltr

and the alcohol =5x=5×6=30ltr

the original water and alcohol

54 ltr and 30 ltr

the ratio of alcohol to water = 5:9
