The Jawaharlal Nehru Port, also known as Nhava Sheva is the largest container port in India.
The port is located in Navi Mumbai in the east.
It was established on 26 May 1989 and handles approximately 55% of the country’s containerized cargo, crossing the historic landmark of 4 million TEUs in container throughput consecutively for the past 5 years.
It is ranked 31st among the top 100 container ports in the world.
