The area of the rectangular lawn in front of Meena's house is equal to 10x4= 40 sq.m

Now, when the lawn is fenced with that of the gap of 1 m

The length will be equal to 10-(1+1) = 8 m

The breadth is equal to 4-(1+1) = 2 m

Therefore, the area will be 8x2= 16 sqm

So, the right answer is 16 sqm

Answer:

                      17m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Length of rectangle = 10m

Breadth of rectangle = 4m

Length of fencing = 2 x breadth + (length - 1)

                              = 2 x 4 + (10 - 1)

                              = 8 + 9

Length of fencing = 17m.
