Given :-

  • The sides of the walls are 15m, 11m and 6m.

To Find :-

  • Find the area painted in color ?

Solution :-

we know that, area of a ∆ with sides as a, b and c is ,

  • Area = √[s*(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)] where s is semi - perimeter.
  • s = (a + b + c)/2 .

so,

→ s = (15 + 11 + 6)/2

→ s = 32/2 = 16 cm.

then,

→ Area of ∆ = √[16 * (16 - 15) * (16 - 11) * (16 - 6)]

→ Area = √[16 * 1 * 5 * 10]

→ Area = √(4² * 5² * 2)

→ Area = 4 * 5√2

→ Area = 20√2 m². (Ans.)

Given :  There is a slide in a park. One of its side walls has been painted in some colour

The sides of the wall are 11m, 15m and 6m.

To Find :  1.The semi perimeter of the triangle

2.Area of the triangle is

3.Formula to find perimeter of the triangle

4.Formula to find area of the sidewall

5.Perimeter of the triangle

Solution:

s = (a + b + c)/2

a = 11

b = 15

c =  6

The semi perimeter of the triangle  s  = (11 + 15 +  6)/2

= ( 32)/2

= 16 m

Formula to find area of the sidewall is Heron formula  = √s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)

Area of the triangle =  √16(16 - 11)(16 - 15)(16 - 6)

=  √16(5)(1)(10)

= 20√2  m²

perimeter of the triangle  = a + b  + c

= 11 + 15 + 6

= 32 m
