there is increase in the level of water taken in a beaker when common salt is dissolved in it. give reason

As we all know that liquid particles are not tightly packed i.e. it has more intracellular space then if we add NaCl (common salt) in the water some particles get settle down in the space between the particles if the space become filled so the common salt increases the level of water to settle down.
