- The leguminous plants have root nodules in which the nitrogen-fixing bacteria called Rhizobium dwells that fixes up the atmospheric nitrogen and convert it into usable form. So, these plants do not need nitrogenous fertilizers.

There is no need to put nitrogenous fertilizers in the field with luminous plants because in have rhizobium bacteria in their root nodules which provides them nitrogen in soluble form.
