There is not (any) water in the pool.

Why did we use 'any'?

  • We used 'any' because the pool doesn't contain water
  • The sentence is giving a negative approach of a little water or no water at all in the pool.
  • 'Some' is used for plural nouns so using it will make the sentence grammatically incorrect.
  •  For example, There are some people in the office.
