There was a time when DDT was considerd as a very effective insecticide for controlling the mosquito population but it has become ineffective now. Explain.

Continuous use of DDT has resulted in strains of mosquitoes which are resistants to DDT.As mosquitoes reproduce very fast, these resistant strains have increased in numbers.That's why DDT has been ineffective against mosquitoes.
