let English speaking ones be 35x, Hindi speaking ones be 60x, neither English nor Hindi be 30x.

total people of the village=5000

therefore,

35x+60x+30x=5000

125x=5000

x. =5000/125

x. =40.

therefore, English speaking people= 35×40= 1400

Hindi speaking people = 60× 40= 2400.
