⇒ 24% = 144
Above we let number of votes be x.
So,
⇒ 24% of x = 144
⇒ (24/100) × x = 144
⇒ 24x/100 = 144
⇒ 24x = 144 × 100
⇒ 24x = 14400
⇒ x = 14400/24
⇒ x = 600
